Summer break 29th July 2008

I haven’t posted for a couple of weeks due to ill health. Having been diagnosed with underactive thyroid and reacting poorly to the medication left me unable physically and mentally to do much. Things are still unresolved after a series of tests and lost test results now mean the whole process has to be started from scratch again.

 

So I am in a sort of no man’s land. Waiting for answers and time frames.

 

Now feel unsure about continuing with the course when it resumes in September and worry if I will now have enough resources away from other issues to meet the demands of the course.

 

Posting this with the idea of trying to re connect to my project. Will try to keep doing this over the summer break.

 

I am aware that if my health is an issue then will have to reduce the amount and type of action research projects I do. Mail Art will probably have to stop for a while as it is a fair bit of work producing it. Also unfortunately working with Nicole Vivien Watson and her company at Dance City seems to be something also that won’t go ahead as I am currently physically weak and mentally cloudy due to the affect the medicine had on my system that has made a problem that I wasn’t aware of much worse until the right medicine is prescribed.

 

One thing has struck me about the use of digital media is that it greatly allows and compensates for physical frailty.

 

Another is how fortunate I am to have this happen over the summer break where  there is a possibility of  taking some time out.
